What Do You Need Documents?
While it’s popular right now to claim you can buy a home in an instant like a rocket. Those technologies have serious faults. If you go online and get “pre-approved” by a computer but you haven’t provided things like pay stubs, w2’s, tax returns, and bank statements you aren’t really pre-approved.
There are so many rules and regulations in getting a mortgage that it’s impossible to know if someone is approved for a loan without looking at those and other documents.
Trust the lender who asks for them upfront and not in the middle of the process.
IF you are working with a lender and haven’t provided these documents you could get denied after you go under contract. I promise that’s no fun.
When Will You Pull My Credit?
We will not pull your credit until you’ve done three things:
1. Fully complete your online mortgage application
2. Checked the two boxes that authorize us to pull your credit on the online application
3. Provided the requested documents
Once these 3 steps have been completed by you and/or your co-borrower will pull credit and if we’re able pre-approve you.
How Long Does It Take To Get Pre-Approved?
The amount of time it takes largely depends on you and how long it takes for you to complete the 3 steps above. Once those are done we can usually pre-approve your file in less than 24 hours. If you compete and application and upload your documents you will typically receive your pre-approval same day.
